After graduating from McGill’s integrated LLB and Bachelor of Civil Law program 20 years ago, Roland was first admitted to the New York and Ontario bars in 2005, then to the BC bar in 2010. 

Since then, Roland has always focused, in private law, on commercial and family litigation, and in public law, on US and Canadian immigration law. His practice concerns mostly complex litigation matters at the provincial superior courts and courts of appeal. He also attends proceedings before the Canadian Federal Court and US Federal District Courts. Since 2015, Roland has presided over administrative tribunal hearings. 

Roland conducts court proceedings in French and English; he is a native Chinese speaker and is conversant in Spanish.

Closely connected with the Canadian Forces veterans’ community, Roland volunteers for homeless veterans and participates in events organized by associations such as Soldier On.
